POSITION OVERVIEW:

Startec Refrigeration Service is currently recruiting for a Industrial Refrigeration Mechanic (Journeyperson) to work at our Edmonton, AB location (4403 - 68th Avenue NW, Edmonton, AB T6B 2N2). The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial refrigeration systems used in various industries such as food processing, cold storage, and manufacturing. Reporting to the Lead Refrigeration Mechanic, the Journeyperson will utilize their expertise in industrial refrigeration systems to ensure the safe, efficient operation of equipment and maintaining optimal temperature control.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of a refrigeration mechanic apprenticeship program or equivalent certification as a Journeyperson Refrigeration Mechanic.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial refrigeration systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, controls, and associated components.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration system issues.
  • Basic computer skills required (MS Office Applications)
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Willingness to learn and develop technical skills through on-the-job training.
  • Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean Driver’s Abstract
  • Ability to work independently and on-call.
  • Ability to work out of town. Travel and overnight stays may be required from time to time.
