Join RACQ as an Industrial Relations Specialist and help shape fair, contemporary and commercially sound employment practices across our organisation during our time of transformation. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced IR professional to provide trusted advice, influence key stakeholders, and contribute to meaningful people-focused outcomes. About this role: As an Industrial Relations Specialist, you will provide expert advice and support to managers, employees and HR colleagues on a wide range of industrial matters. You’ll play a key role in interpreting legislation and multiple industrial instruments, managing workplace matters, supporting enterprise agreement processes in complex environment, while ensuring our practices align with regulatory requirements and RACQ’s values. This is a 12 month fixed term contract opportunity to work closely with and support our Industrial Relations and People and Culture teams in delivery of our Strategic Plan. Your key responsibilities include: Industrial & Employee Relations Provide high‑quality, timely and practical IR advice to leaders and employees in a complex environment. Identify and apply contemporary industrial relations practices and trends. Support the management of IR risks through appropriate controls and recommendations. Build and maintain relationships with unions and key internal stakeholders. Case Management & Workplace Matters Conduct or support workplace investigations into bullying, harassment, discrimination or other matters. Assist in resolving employee grievances in line with RACQ policies. Support RACQ’s representation in relevant tribunals as required. Agreements, Policy & Research Contribute to enterprise agreement development, including research, analysis, providing insights and recommendations for negotiation and specialist advice throughout bargaining. Monitor and analyse IR legislation, case law and market trends, providing proactive insights. Support the development and continuous improvement of policies, processes and role architecture. Collaboration & Partnership Work closely with HR / People and Culture colleagues to deliver aligned, effective people solutions. Engage in consultation processes with internal stakeholders across the Group. Contribute to HR projects and broader people initiatives as needed. What skills you’ll bring: Commitment for a fixed term contract of 12 months Tertiary qualification in Law, Industrial Relations, Business or HR Management or Membership of the IR Society of Queensland / AHRI Experience in industrial or employee relations; enterprise bargaining agreements, representation in tribunals Deep knowledge of the Fair Work Act, Modern Awards Experience in changing environments, strong analytical, research and problem‑solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to convey complex issues clearly. Proven ability to negotiate, influence and build constructive stakeholder relationships.
