Onward, a division of Richelieu Hardware, is currently seeking an Industrial Sales Representative for the Maritime region who ideally resides within Moncton– Halifax area. Under the supervision of the Industrial Sales Manager, the Representative will ensure the development of new customers and the retention of existing customers.

REQUIREMENTS

  • College Degree in Marketing or a related field, combined with relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Experience in the hardware business as well as in the retail business would be an asset.
  • Excellent English communication (written and spoken);
  • Good computer skills including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook;
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented with good presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Organized, autonomous, resourceful, hardworking.This position requires travel 90% of the time.

  • Compensation includes a base salary + commission, a car allowance, and an expense account for travel expenses, a group insurance program, and an Employee Share Purchase Plan.

Responsibilities
  • Perform visits to hardware retail stores throughout the region. Some overnight travel will be required.
  • Build relationships with customers.
  • Improve sales by optimizing the product selection.
  • Update the merchandising/planograms and present new products.
  • Respond to inquiries about products and services.
  • Identify opportunities to convert competitive assortments, present, close, execute.
  • Attend trade shows and sales meetings on occassion
  • Prepare information packages and other necessary supporting materials.
  • Submit monthly expense reports on time
  • Maintain updated information for customer records, prospects and service proposals.
  • Contribute to the improvement of the development strategy and marketing plan.
  • Continuously updating all customers on company product modifications and enhancements.
  • Advocate and train customers to leverage richelieu.com for regular and special orders.
