Description Job Description: Responsible for seaming pre-cut patterns together, following precise instructions. Must be able to sew pre-sewn pieces together to form a complete part. Duties and Responsibilities: Must be able to use and maintain a high-speed, walking foot sewing machine. Must be able to communicate with managers and leads effectively. Must have good hand-eye – coordination. Must be able to trim finished seams when necessary. Must be able to use scissors. Keep the work area clean and orderly. Follow instructions of the Supervisor/foreman/lead. Work with a team to complete projects Inspects all parts to be complete and up to quality standards. Any other duties as assigned by management. Must comply with all OSHA and safety procedures. Skills and abilities for success in this position: Give full attention to what other people are saying, take time to understand the points being made and ask questions as appropriate. Understand written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents. Manage one’s own time and respect the time of others. Consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one. Must be able to work effectively individually or with a team. Must be able to perform tasks under time pressure deadlines. Must have strong attention to detail. The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. Tools used in this occupation include but are not limited to: · Personal Protective Equipment- Safety Glasses · Tools- industrial sewing machine and scissors. Physical Requirements: Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed. Be able to sit for extended periods while performing job duties. Must be able to lift 30 pounds. This is a safety-sensitive position.
Responsibilities
The Industrial Sewer is responsible for seaming pre-cut patterns together using high-speed sewing machines to form complete parts. They must also inspect finished products for quality standards and maintain a clean, orderly work environment.
