Due to the continued growth of the business, we are looking to recruit 2 full-time sewing machinists, required for general curtain and soft furnishings manufacturing, to join a dedicated team in a well-established company. The role will be on a full-time, permanent basis. Shift times are Monday - Thursday 8.00am to 5.00pm and Friday 8.30am to 12.30pm with overtime available to suit the needs of the business.
We have been trading for 50 years with most of our staff being with us for 15 years or more. You will need to have the minimum 6 months experience of using an overlock and/or flatbed sewing machine in an industrial setting, as per the below minimum requirements. Training for other machines will be provided.
Candidates should be aware that the job includes the handling of heavy curtains and can sometimes be physically demanding. This is a position working within a friendly team environment for a hard-working, reliable individual.
Due to the nature of the business the ideal candidate would have experience in the following:
· Curtain Making; including measuring and cutting of fabrics.
· Capable of sewing all fabric types
· Working with Air Fed sewing machines
· Sewing Boxed Piped Cushions
· Zip Work
· Piped Scatter Cushions
· Working in a Busy Environment
· Previous experience within a fast-paced sewing environment
· Excellent attention to detail
· Demonstrates excellent team working skills.
· Flexible
