Description

WHO WE ARE

SOLiTHOR is a high-tech company which is utilising 10 years of research by imec, the prestigious Belgian R&D institute in nanoelectronics and digital technologies.
Building on this unique and patented research, SOLiTHOR is developing and aiming to commercialise the next all-solid-state lithium batteries for the electromobility sector. Our mission is to scale up our all-solid-state battery technology and apply it to electric vehicles – in the air, on land and sea.
To strengthen our growing team of engineers and technologists, we are looking for a motivated and talented Industrial Sol-Gel Production Expert.

SKILLS, PERSONALITY AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for an entrepreneurial individual with a hands-on approach to work - a creative problem solver who is motivated and passionate about the profession, and who thrives in a high-tech and multicultural environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry
  • Proficiency in industrial process development, upscaling methodologies and equipment for sol-gel processes
  • Demonstrable knowledge of sol-gel materials and industrial coating techniques
  • Solid data analysis skills, with experience in process optimization tools such as Design of Experiments, Response Surface Methodology, PFMEA and Statistical Process Control
  • An understanding of lithium-ion battery systems and their components would be advantageous
  • Fluent in English
Responsibilities
  • Develop and optimize sol-gel formulations to enable the upscaling of their synthesis processes to large-volume production while preserving their performance as precursors of solid-state electrolytes and composite electrodes.
  • Transform the technology from a laboratory production scale to a pilot one, ensuring that the industrial processes and equipment are cost-efficient, scalable, well-documented and compliant with Health, Safety & Environment regulations
  • Identify ideal process monitoring metrology to establish and maintain statistical process control to ensure stable specifications and optimal performance of solid electrolyte materials
  • Conduct thorough analysis of process parameters and product performance, using data analysis and statistical tools to drive improvements (DoE and Response Surface Methodology)
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional R&D teams to pioneer core technologies
