Description

The Industrial Technician is a hands-on role that supports equipment testing, maintenance, and field service operations involving mechanical systems, electrical components, and instrumentation. The position requires a background in electrical instrumentation and experience working with industrial systems, including PLCs, pumps, valves, and control panels.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Electrical Instrumentation degree, technical certification, or equivalent field experience
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in an industrial or technical maintenance role
  • Strong mechanical skills including use of power tools, plumbing basics, and assembly
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
  • Familiarity with safety procedures, including OSHA 10 and Lockout/Tagout
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and customer service orientation
  • Willingness to travel for field service and work independently when needed

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Welding or fabrication experience
  • Prior field service or lab testing experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs regularly, and occasionally heavier loads with assistance
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods of time
  • Manual dexterity to safely and effectively use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
  • Comfortable working on ladders or elevated platforms as needed
  • Ability to work in industrial and outdoor environments, including exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and weather conditions
  • Visual acuity to read schematics, labels, gauges, and computer screens
  • Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and hearing protection
  • Capacity to travel for field work, including occasional overnight stays

Responsibilities
  • Operate water filtration and membrane testing equipment under the guidance of the Membrane Testing Technician
  • Perform installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting on industrial pumps, valves, sensors, and control systems
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues, including PLC and VFD-based systems (Allen Bradley and Siemens)
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections on lab and field equipment
  • Assist in the assembly, refurbishment, and repair of equipment used in field trials
  • Travel to customer sites to support equipment setup, operation, and maintenance during field trials
  • Maintain accurate service logs and follow all safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout procedures
  • Support installation of new systems and make improvements to existing setups
  • Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Other duties as assigned
