DESCRIPTION
This position assists with creating, developing, and supporting the marketing strategies,
plans for assigned industry segments/sectors. Involved with creating relevant, consistent,
clear, and simple industry-specific content, messages and visuals aligned with GS1 Canada’s
brand and communication guidelines. This position has a key role in disseminating and
managing marketing content using industry segment/sector preferred mediums and digital
platforms including email, social media as well as the organization’s website pages. This role
collaborates closely with internal teams to deliver tailored marketing initiatives that drive
engagement, awareness, and adoption within each sector.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERTISE
- Post-secondary certificate or equivalent in relevant discipline.
- 2+ years of relevant experience.
- A solid understanding and application of one or more elements of marketing to effectively reach segmented stakeholders.
- Analyzing specific data from various sources (SharePoint content management, CRM, website, social media, surveys) to identify patterns, preferences, and behaviors.
- Ability to translate data into actionable insights about segment stakeholder needs, motivations, and pain points.
- Understands customer experience, customer journeys, customer segmentation.
- Strong writing and visual skills, with experience producing high-quality customized content in alignment with company brand guidelines.
- Experience with content creation tools, including Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and video editing software to design and implement successful marketing campaigns, events, and initiatives.
- Working knowledge and skills with digital marketing platforms, channels that effectively reach specific industry segment stakeholders to optimize campaigns (e.g., social media, email, web).
- Familiarity with digital assets and technologies such as SharePoint, LinkedIn, content management systems, social media platforms, web technology and analytics, basic graphic design and video editing etc.
- Proven relationship builder and collaborator with internal stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Influence & Relationship Management – Solid communication skills tocollaborate with internal teams, industry leaders, and external partners.
- Data-Driven Decision Making – Uses analytics and insights to manage and measuremarketing effectiveness.
