About the Program The NCIA internship is a 6-month program based at one of our key hubs in The Netherlands, Belgium or Portugal. Our internship opportunities start from either 1 March or 1 September with the start date being dependent on the timeline to secure the required security clearance to work within the NATO community. During an internship, you will join and support a diverse international team and simultaneously learn from our experts via on-the-job training, working independently on purposeful projects or initiatives during your tenure. About the Internship Internship duration: 6 months Location: Brussels, Belgium The Office of the Chief of Acquisition (COA) provides the full range of acquisition expertise and activities that support the planning, implementation and maintenance of the required capability in support to the Agency’s strategic goals and missions. These functions include Contracting and Acquisition Lifecycle, which includes Integrated Product Support and Cost Estimating and Analysis. COA controls all NCI Agency procurement activities to ensure effective risk management and protects the legal and financial liabilities of the Agency by implementing the best practices to all acquisition activities, including Lifecycle Acquisition. This internship within the Industry Relations Team (IRT) supports the Chief of Acquisition and the NCIA General Manager on industry engagement aligned to the Industry Strategic Engagement Plan (ISEP). You will help implement the ISEP by conducting research, analysis, and stakeholder coordination; collecting and analyzing market and company data from sources such as databases, surveys, and open-source platforms; and developing actionable, data-driven recommendations. You will present complex information in formats tailored to diverse audiences, collaborate with cross-agency teams and external industry representatives, and prepare reports, background materials, correspondence, and meeting minutes while managing follow-ups to ensure timely execution. The role also includes assisting with the planning and implementation of industry engagement activities or visits in alignment with the ISEP, contributing to strengthened relationships with the private sector and improved organizational insight into market dynamics. About you: The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this role is: Business administration: Performs routine administration activities in a structured environment. Follows clear procedures and uses standard digital tools. Stores and files information following agreed procedures. Makes simple travel and meeting arrangements. Business intelligence: Assists with the creation of regular business intelligence reports using standard tools. Supports data preparation from existing sources. Data science: Under guidance, applies given data science techniques to data. Analyses and reports findings and remediates simple issues, using algorithms implemented in standard software frameworks and tools. Conditional offer to be presented to successful candidates by early May Compensation Belgium You will be compensated at a fixed taxable rate of 1,334.96 EUR per month, based on 38 hours of work per week and for reasonable travel expenses to start on day 1 and to return to your home location once the internship is complete. Future Opportunities In support of the NCIA strategy to hire, train and retain exceptional talent the NCIA Internship Programme embeds a performance management process throughout the 6 month internship to provide high performing interns with the opportunity to continue their internship experience after their internship is successfully completed in a paid post at G8 equivalent at the duty location for 6 months to a maximum of 24 months. There is no guarantee that the internship can transfer to an Internship Temporary Personnel (ITP) as the funding is aligned to business priorities and objectives.
