  • Infection Prevention Coordinator
  • Permanent Part time: 33.75 hours per fortnight
    Recruiting a permanent Infection and Prevention Coordinator role to support Mitcham Private, Waverley Private and Frances Perry House in Melbourne, Victoria.
    The facilities specialise in surgical, endoscopy, maternity, oncology and mental health.
    This position will support the three facilities by leading the current IPC supports and maintain the Ramsay Infection prevention and control program with guidance to the hospital Executive in all areas related to infection prevention and management.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
  • Depending on the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The successful applicant will be responsible for the implementation of best practice standards and maintain and apply knowledge of infection control surveillance, prevention and management of healthcare related infection.
You will be required to act as a support to all clinical and non-clinical departments in relation to the prevention and management of risks associated with infection control.

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE, YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Tertiary qualifications in infection prevention and control or related discipline or working toward the same.
  • A minimum of 12 months experience working in an infection prevention and control role within an acute health care setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting an effective infection prevention and control in a hospital setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships.
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislative requirements, and Australian standards relating to infection prevention and control, and sterilising services including international trends in best practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and review qualitative and quantitative data, clinical outcomes, identify trends and drive opportunities for improvement.
