Description Description Highland Oaks is small, 52-bed long-term care, skilled nursing facility with a family-like atmosphere looking to hire an Infection Preventionist who can help us fulfil our mission of providing ‘Loving Care to the Glory of God.” We are a 5-star CMS rated facility that is located on the west side of Elgin, just past Randall Road. Responsibilities Create and maintain the facility’s Infection Control policies. Manage the facility’s COVID-19 program, including tracking staff and resident COVID-19 cases and maintaining the weekly staff testing logs. Manage the facility’s Antibiotic Stewardship program. Define the frequency and nature of surveillance activities and perform and document the monitoring. Educate and remind staff on acceptable hand hygiene practices. Identify and communicate information about residents with potentially transmissible infectious agents. Instruct staff on caring for a resident on contact precautions and ensure protocols are being followed. Instruct on essential steps to cleaning equipment. Participate and report on the Infection Prevention and Control Program at the quarterly QAPI meeting. Take continuing education courses and watch CMS & IDPH webinars to keep current on infection control regulations. Minimum starting pay: $36/hr Requirements Hours A minimum of 3 days (24 hours) per week must be spent on Infection Control in accordance with CMS regulations. Additional days are available to fill-in as the Clinical Care Coordinator and/or Staff/Floor Nurse. Requirements Active RN/LPN License in Illinois COVID-19 and Influenza Vaccine Love of the geriatric population
