Wellfound Behavioral Health Hospital is hiring a full time Employee Health & Infection Preventionist to join our team.   Wellfound Behavioral Health Hospital is a 120-bed inpatient psychiatric hospital located in Tacoma, Washington.  We are Department of Health and Joint Commission accredited. We are an acute care psychiatric hospital providing care to both voluntary and involuntary patients.   Position information: The Employee Health/Infection Preventionist is responsible for the maintenance of the health programs for employees and for the provision of medical/health services to staff as they relate to occupational risk and Wellfound Behavioral Health Hospital (WBHH) policy. This position is also responsible for assisting with the development, implementation, coordination, and monitoring of WBHH Infection Prevention (IP) Program. The IP will develop, analyze, and interpret information relating to infection control surveillance, policies, procedures, staff education, practices, and regulatory mandates. This position will consult and document recommendations in the Electronic Health Records (EHREHR). This position serves as a resource to other staff and leadership and requires independent decision-making skills and analytical problem solving. Wellfound is located on the beautiful South Puget Sound in Washington. We are an hour drive away from the beautiful Cascade Mountain range, and Mount Rainier. This area is known for an outdoor lifestyle including boating, biking, hiking, and skiing. Tacoma is the second largest city in Washington state. There is access to concert venues, sports arenas, and a thriving micro-brewery and spectacular wine community.    We offer competitive pay and benefits: * Salary: $98,904 - $154,190 depending on experience * Great benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and Supplemental Life Insurance eligible the first of the month following 30 days of hire. * Employee Assistance Program up on hire * 403B with discretionary match for those that participate in the plan and meet work requirements * Paid Time Off - You will accrue Paid Sick and Safe Leave at 1 hour per 40 hours worked.  Paid Sick leave cannot be used until 90 days after your hire date. * Paid Time Off will be accrued based on hours worked and tenure.  You will accrue 0.12 hours of PTO per hours worked until you reach the next level of accrual.  PTO cannot be used until 90 days after your hire date with the exception of designated Wellfound holidays. What We Require:   Education:  * Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology and Disease Control, or Nursing Certification/License:  * Certification in Infection Control (CIC) (preferred) or attainment of certification within three (3) years of hire. * Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association or American Red Cross Work Experience:  * Experience in Infection Prevention, Employee Health, or Nursing Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities * Ability to analyze and report infection control data * Knowledge of medical terminology * Knowledge of the principles of Information Management to effectively analyze and make decisions * Skill in good oral and written communication, grammar, and spelling * Ability to work efficiently under pressure * Ability to work independently and take initiative * Ability to set priorities and use good judgement * Ability to meet organization and departmental appearance standards on the job * Knowledge of principles of epidemiology, infection prevention and control, sterilization, disinfection, and sanitation; communicable diseases; regulatory requirements; construction requirements and review * Knowledge of and skill in the use of a Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) * Skill in data analysis * Skill in using adult learning principles * Ability to organize and prioritize entrusted resources in a timely and effective manner.  * Ability to apply critical thinking and logic skills to unusual, non-standard, and/or urgent situations. * Ability to respond calmly in tense, difficult, and/or urgent situations. * Ability to read, understand and communicate in English sufficient to perform the duties of the position.
Responsibilities
Responsible for maintaining employee health programs and providing medical services related to occupational risk. Develops and monitors the hospital's Infection Prevention Program, including surveillance, policy implementation, and staff education.
