POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Infection Preventionist conducts targeted infection surveillance activities, including investigations and responses to outbreaks among patients and/or personnel. They recommend and teach appropriate preventative measures to control infections, ensuring compliance with regulations and accreditation standards. This role has a focus on High Level Disinfection and involves, monitoring infection trends, educating staff, and collaborating with regulatory bodies to uphold organizational safety and compliance.


QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education:
  • Associates degree or higher in a healthcare-related field required.
  • Knowledge of nursing and medical procedures; microbiology, infectious disease, epidemiology, asepsis, and immunology preferred.
  • Experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience in healthcare or a related field is preferred.
  • Prior experience in infection control preferred.
  • Licensure & Certifications:
  • Knowledge of local, state, and national infection control regulations and standards.
  • National certification in infection control (e.g., CIC) preferred within 3 years from the date of hire.
