SUMMARY

The Coord Info Systems PFS plays a crucial role supporting the daily operational needs of the Revenue Cycle. The Coord provides support to staff across the entire Munson Healthcare (MHC) system to assist with accurate claim submission, voucher posting, and electronic file transfers. Serves as a resource for both internal and external vendor management staff to obtain information or clarification on accurate system process flow.
Identifies workflow issues and troubleshoots to meet PFS Departmental KPI goals.
Acts as the departmental liaison to the activities in the billing and reimbursement process.
The Coord works closely with various financial and revenue cycle department managers across the system. Additionally, the Coord works with various MHC third-party payors, vendors, and partners.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Systems, Health Services Administration, Business Administration, or related field. In lieu of a degree, consideration will be given to a candidate with 10 years’ relative revenue cycle experience to systems used within Munson Healthcare.
  • Five years’ experience with multiple IT systems required to include but not limited to: STAR, Meditech, and/or Cerner Revenue Cycle; claims administrators such as Allscripts and/or Quadex; electronic file transfers to and from banking institutions, early out vendors and/or collection agencies, etc.
  • Develops, educates and maintains required downtime policies.
  • Exemplary customer relation skills and proven ability to communicate effectively and accurately, verbally and in writing with all levels

  • Must be able to work independently and prioritize projects and timelines within a flexible schedule. * Problem solving is a major component of the job.

  • Report writing knowledge and experience preferred.

  • Able to operate under frequently stressful conditions due to the constantly changing requirements in healthcare.
  • Travel to system facilities for work and meetings may be required on occasion.

  • Responsible to trouble shoot and maintain optimal ADT functions and interfaces affecting efficient operation of Munson Healthcare.
  • Maintains a global knowledge of MHC business procedures to be able to problem solve issues in all areas of responsibility.
  • Assist with specific IS and software system product issues as they arise and provide input on new systems or upgrades.
  • Facilitates system upgrades in relation to all Patient Financial Services locations specific functions.
  • Contributes to the analysis, design, construction and implementation of systems relating to PFS functions.
  • Plans and coordinates education of system changes or process revisions in all MHC PFS locations.
  • Performs software maintenance; communicating with vendors and payers for problem resolution.
  • May support a specific software application and provide backup support for other systems coordinators.
  • Coordinates testing for systems’ functionality on software for product changes/enhancements.
  • Serves as resource for process redesign within PFS.
  • Monitors data collection issues and assists personnel in resolution of billing and customer service issues.
  • Assists staff within PFS; providing education and system preparation for changing regulatory requirements.
  • Assumes accountability for on time delivery of assigned projects.
  • Required to provide on-call support to PFS for computer system issues and required upgrade testing and support.
  • Required to compile and analyze a broad cross section of detail and information regarding all department activities and assist in the development of procedures and appropriate education to facilitate the flow of patients into the organization.
  • Presents a team-oriented, leadership role, promoting vision, goal-oriented direction and creativity within work teams.
  • Takes responsibility to identify and develop skills necessary to meet the requirements of new technologies
