Job Summary
The Informatics Nurse Specialist (INS) is responsible for the assessment, planning, training, implementation, evaluation and optimization of clinical informatics projects/initiatives. INS serves as the primary interface between nursing, allied health, business, compliance, quality, physicians and information technology departments to ensure interdisciplinary project coordination and standardization. INS is knowledgeable about nursing workflows, process, nursing practice, relevant regulatory mandates, and principles of quality/safety improvement. INS ensures technology projects/initiatives are planned and implemented using evidence-based practices, resulting in quality patient outcomes. The INS adheres to the ANA Nursing Informatics Scope and Standards of Practice.
