How you’ll make a difference:
As an Information Analyst you’ll make a difference by using technical and analytical skills to provide clear and concise data, reports and analysis in order to help the council improve services, service delivery and play a part in improving outcomes for children, young people and adults.

What you will be doing:

  • A primary purpose of this role will be analysing information and investigating the causes and contributing factors to good and poor performance across Children’s Social Care Services.
  • Developing your existing knowledge of PowerBI, you will create and share dashboards, update audience apps and connect via an SQL gateway to Mosaic. Working alongside service managers and teams, you will help them understand how to get the best out of their PowerBI dashboards and reports.
  • Under the direction of a Senior Manager, you may also contribute to projects to propose and undertake actions to improve service performance and data quality.
  • Part of the role will require you to contribute or lead on the completion of statutory returns in a timely way, whilst responding to ad-hoc demands such as freedom of information requests.
  • Your work will form the basis of decision making on such things as resource allocation and policy changes involving all the department’s services across all client groups and areas. It will provide both elected members, and senior managers with key management information where the relevance, accuracy and validity of the information will be your responsibility.
  • You will work as part of a team to deliver daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements, supporting during an ILACS or JATI inspection.

What we need from you:

  • We require you to be educated to degree level or equivalent with a proven track record of working in an analytical environment in a large organisation.
  • It is key, you have some experience of Mosaic Case Management System and aspects of social care.
  • Ideally, you will have or be willing to develop your skills in the writing of reports using MSSQL, have good technical skills in Excel and develop skills in extracting data into and presenting data in PowerBI.
  • You’ll hold previous experience of working with stakeholders and partners in order to influence and build requirements, solve problems and how data can help influence and improve services.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • This is a limited term contract, ending 17/10/2025.
  • We are also offering this as an internal secondment opportunity, you should first seek your line managers permission before applying.
  • This role is hybrid, with a mixture of working at our office in Yate and working from home.
