About the Opportunity
Glenelg Shire Council is seeking a detail-driven and proactive Information and Data Officer to join our team! In this key role, you’ll apply your specialist knowledge to ensure high-quality, secure management of both digital and physical records, while delivering responsive customer service and meeting all legislative requirements.
You’ll work across the organisation to develop, maintain, and promote effective records management practices. This includes supporting staff, encouraging best practice use of systems, and overseeing the preservation and lawful destruction of records in line with regulatory standards.

What you need to Succeed
To succeed as our Information and Data Officer, you’ll have a relevant qualification or several years of demonstrated experience in a similar role. You’ll be confident managing projects—big or small—ideally within a government or corporate records/information environment and have a solid understanding of both digital and physical records management procedures.
Your strong foundation in confidentiality and privacy standards will be essential, along with your ability to provide training and support across the organisation. You’ll be a clear communicator, both written and verbal, with excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
We’re also looking for someone who’s proficient with computer software, quick to learn new programs, and holds a current Driver’s Licence. An ongoing Police Check and Working with Children Check are required for this role.
