Working to the protect the state’s environment and heritage.   * Internal expression of interest * 5 x Casual opportunities * Located in Kurnell - Kurnell Visitor Centre – Kamay Botany Bay National Park. * Casual rates apply depending on experience ($41.46 to $45.08 per hour) plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and casual loading   About the role National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for five casual Information and Retail Assistants to work as part of the Greater Sydney team and contribute towards the conservation of the natural environment, flora, fauna and Aboriginal heritage. As an Information and Retail Assistant, you will provide professional and focused customer services through the provision of visitor information, site reception services, collection of entry fees, maintain cleanliness of the centre and retail/merchandise sales and related reports.  Noting this is a role within a start up location, tasks may vary to suit the scope of works being developed – this may include but not be limited to setting up conference spaces, responding to group bookings and assisting with the visitor management of the internal and external centre.  Please note you must be available to work weekdays, weekends, public holidays, and peak periods. In addition, in line with the GSB Information and Retail Expectation document, you are required to be available for a minimum of five days per month for potential rostered shifts.   About you To be successful in the role, you will have: * Experience acting independently on matters relating to servicing visitors to the national park where supervisors are not readily available. * Experience in exercising excellent customer service and negotiation skills as well as sound people and diplomatic skills to deal effectively with cultural differences or limited English skills. * Team player, customer service focused, safety orientated, sound technical ability to operate point of sale systems and related reporting.   Essential Requirements * Experience in a retail environment including dealing with customer enquiries be that face to face or on phone.  Experience in operating a frontline service area, cash handling procedures and using digital booking software. * A current Working with Children Check (WWCC) is an essential requirement for this role.
