Two Information Architects required to produce and maintain a Federal Agency’s Information Architecture, defining the blueprint for managing data.

  • Initial 12-month contract (possible 2 x 12-month extension options)
  • No Award applies for this role: Rates from $140.00 per hour are offered (inclusive of superannuation and casual loading) - dependent on skills and experience.
  • 8 hours per day - 40 hours per week
  • Australian Citizens required due to Fed Gov Environment
  • NV1 Clearance required
  • Location: Canberra, ACT - up to 3 days per week WFH
  • July 2025 estimated commencement - Pending onboarding requirements

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in developing Information Architecture artefacts - data models, class diagrams, taxonomies, standards, classifications and transformations.
  • Experience in applying Information Architecture practices in an agile and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to communicate to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A track record of delivery while working within a project team.
  • Flexibility of the proposal over the lifecycle of the procurement and environmental sustainability of the goods or services.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

A Federal Government Agency requires 2 x Information Architects to produce and maintain the Agency’s Information Architecture, defining the blueprint for managing data assets, Information Zones, Data Integration Patterns, Data Models and Data Flows.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working with the business to describe and document what information will be shared, how it will be shared, and what information is needed by targeted user communities.
  • Ensuring that applications, business processes and analytics and reporting systems can facilitate information sharing for the business communities.
  • Working with business SME’s to design the conceptual data models, logical data models and business process models that enable information provisioning and consumption.
  • Communicating information architecture to partner agencies, focus groups and user communities to facilitate dataset onboarding and sharing.
  • Working with focus groups and user communities to improve data discoverability, data quality and the understanding of data.
  • Working with solutions architects to ensure the physical data architecture and application design support the information architecture.
