Description

WHO WE ARE

Simon Fraser University is a leading research university, advancing an inclusive and sustainable future. Our purpose – the essence of SFU – is to create and connect knowledge, learning and community for deeper understanding and meaningful impact. We are committed to fostering excellence, innovation, belonging and community in all that we do.
Registrar and Information Services’ front counter provides Surrey Campus’s first point of contact for prospective students, students, staff, community members and visitors. RIS accepts tuition and fee payments, works with student documents, provides information on all Student Services, and assists with connections to advisors and departments. We also offer services by phone and email. The team is technically knowledgeable, helpful, respectful, inclusive and welcoming to all those seeking access to information and services.

Responsibilities

As the first point of contact at Student Services, you handle diverse inquiries about SFU’s educational programs, student records, administrative deadlines, financial assistance, government programs, and university policies. Additionally, you issue official documentation like transcripts, confirmation letters, and process payments for tuition and services. As part of the role, you will also produce photo identity cards and maintain the card production equipment.
The ideal candidate is collaborative, communicates clearly and acts with professionalism and integrity. They intentionally provide courteous, helpful and flexible assistance to customers, with the goal of providing excellent service, and support their colleagues in doing the same. They make informed decisions, while keeping in mind departmental goals and the wellbeing of themselves and their team.
