POSITION OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the VP, Marketing and Strategic Insights, the Information Design and Research Specialist will support CIBC Mellon’s marketing and strategic insights functions, with a focus on creating impactful presentations from complex source material. Under the direction of senior marketing leaders, this individual will design, create and enhance presentations and templates for clients, prospects and executive meetings. The role will also work with the Vice President, Marketing and Strategic Insights and external providers to support industry research activities, prepare thought leadership and present relevant findings. The role will support CIBC Mellon’s corporate storytelling, industry insights and other marketing programming.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Specific Knowledge & Skills (not preferred or an asset)

  • 3-5 years of design knowledge and experience (especially Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite and other visual design platforms).
  • University education or equivalent formal post-secondary education.
  • Outstanding storyteller, able to communicate complex topics with clarity and in multiple formats.
  • Previous experience conducting qualitative research (e.g. academic research at the undergraduate or graduate level)
  • Strong eye for visual presentation, high attention to detail.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Effective oral communication and presentation skills, including presenting to senior leaders.
Responsibilities

Presentation Design & Creation (60%)

  • Create, design, format & enhance impactful presentations for executives, prospects and clients (advanced PowerPoint & design software).
  • Working with subject matter experts, help maintain and update corporate presentation libraries & templates.
  • Present complex information visually and interactively (e.g. via infographics, animated presentations).
  • Enhance corporate storytelling through modern digital channels.

Research Assistant (20%)

  • Execute thought leadership, primary research, client experience, and qualitative market research under direction of VP, Marketing and Strategic Insights.
  • Work with research partners, monitor & oversee progress.
  • Review industry & academic literature to identify trends, evidence and opportunities for CIBC Mellon and its clients to advance.
  • Assist in designing summary presentations, including internal and external reports on research findings, e.g. client newsletters, research papers & slideware.

General Marketing Support (20%)

  • Support client-facing employees with marketing and communications best practices.
  • Support communications and marketing activities, including content marketing, event execution, and employee communications as needed.
