The Digital Information Office is seeking an experienced Information Governance Advisor to support the effective management, integrity, and accessibility of the Department’s information assets. Your work will ensure the integrity, accessibility, and compliance of our corporate information registers and online delivery portals.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of our information management frameworks, help drive continuous improvement in data governance practices, and support business objectives through sound information stewardship.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THIS ROLE:

  • Maintain and update content within corporate information registers and online portals.
  • Coordinate the publication and auditing of information asset records to meet operational and governance requirements.
  • Develop clear and practical documentation, including operating procedures and training materials.
  • Identify the needs of information creators and stewards, and collaborate to ensure standards for metadata, data quality, and information retrieval are met.
  • Deliver targeted training and promote awareness of information governance principles.
  • Support internal and external stakeholder relationships, including vendors, ensuring adherence to compliance standards and service agreements.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Experience working within a recognised information governance framework and understanding of compliance standards for metadata and data quality.
  • Strong capability in educating and guiding end-users to implement effective information management practices.
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity, particularly when working with Aboriginal, scientific, or culturally significant information.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage competing priorities while meeting quality and delivery expectations.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive approach to continuous learning and staying current with evolving information governance practices.
