We could be looking for you to join our Information Governance and Complaints Team at New Forest District Council.
This is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll be the first point of contact for corporate complaints and information requests, helping ensure the Council meets its statutory obligations and delivers excellent service to residents.

Responsibilities

As the first point of contact for corporate complainants, you’ll guide individuals through the complaints process with empathy and professionalism. You’ll also:

  • Support the Council’s Data Protection Officer and the Information Governance & Complaints Team.
  • Manage and respond to Freedom of Information (FOI), Environmental Information Regulation (EIR), and Data Protection (DPA/UK GDPR) requests.
  • Log, route, and monitor complaints and compliments to ensure timely and effective resolution.
  • Assist with investigations and help determine appropriate escalation levels.
  • Provide vital administrative support including record keeping, performance reporting, and meeting coordination.
  • Liaise with senior managers and external bodies such as the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman and Housing Ombudsman.
