The Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KV Berlin) is a public corporation and plays a key role in the healthcare system. We are responsible for ensuring outpatient medical and psychotherapeutic care for those with statutory health insurance in the capital. We guarantee this care at a high level of quality – around the clock – in cooperation with physicians. The Berlin Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (a public corporation) is seeking to fill a full-time (part-time possible) position in its Information Technology (IIS) department as soon as possible .
IT Security Engineer (m/f/d)
The use of IT also entails risks. As an IT Security Engineer, you are familiar with suitable approaches and measures to identify and minimize these risks. You not only consider the security of individual components but also contribute to the secure development of our entire IT architecture. You assume a key professional role within the IT department and shape the planning, implementation, and further development of technical IT security measures within the predefined security standards and frameworks.
Your area of responsibility
- Co-design and operational implementation of IT security at the Berlin Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KV Berlin)
- Supporting IT departments to secure new and existing IT components and applications.
- Participation in the selection and implementation of new security technologies and processes, as well as collaboration in demanding IT security projects.
- Planning, execution and follow-up of security reviews and audits (e.g. penetration tests, technical IT security audits, code analyses)
- Advising and raising awareness among employees regarding the safe use of IT infrastructure
Your profile
- Solid IT knowledge through a completed university degree, e.g. in computer science or information technology, or equivalent skills and experience gained through relevant IT training and corresponding professional practice.
- Professional experience in operational IT security management and a strong analytical, service-oriented and proactive work style.
- Demonstrated expertise in key infrastructure and security areas such as operating systems (Windows/Linux), network and communication security, cloud application security, and security monitoring/detection (SOC, SIEM, EDR/XDR, IDS/IPS)
- Experience in IT security/information security management according to common standards/methods such as ISO 27001 or BSI Basic Protection
- Experience in conducting technical security tests, e.g. penetration testing, vulnerability management, IT/live forensics, SIEM or firewalling/IPS

Qualifications:
- Professional experience in information security management, ideally in a regulated or customer-regulated environment
- Completed studies or training in the field of information security, computer science, business informatics or a comparable qualification
- Practical knowledge of ISO/IEC 27001:2022, information security risk management and control evaluation; experience in accompanying internal and external audits is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge or practical experience with relevant regulatory and legal requirements, such as DORA and NIS2; experience with contractual security requirements of customers is an advantage.
- Experience with supplier security, security awareness, and business continuity; cloud security or DevSecOps experience is desirable.
- A structured, independent and pragmatic way of working, as well as strong communication and consulting skills.
- Excellent German skills at C1 level and good English skills.
- Certifications such as ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Lead Auditor, CISM, CISSP or CRISC are advantageous.
