Description
The Information Security department is dedicated to safeguarding the organization’s data and implementing security strategies to protect the digital infrastructure of the Boston Public Health Commission (BPHC). Information Security staff are expected to stay up to date on the latest intelligence, including hackers' methodologies, to anticipate security breaches.   BPHC is seeking a team member to work with reporting tools in state-of-the-art security platforms including but not limited to, Cybersecurity Awareness Training modules, Intrusion Detection /Prevention Systems, Anti-Virus & Malware analysis, Data Loss Prevention, Vulnerability scanning, and Cloud security applications.   This role is an opportunity to merge creativity and security skills while learning fundamental information security concepts. Contribute to the design of the Security SharePoint site, development of Security Plans, Cybersecurity Awareness bulletins, and reporting. The team member will conduct research and compile cybersecurity resources required for projects and assist with asset inventory.   DUTIES: * Assist with security control reviews to ensure compliance with security best practices and organizational policies. * Contribute to the development of Cybersecurity Awareness material. * Enhance the Microsoft SharePoint site to show current security content and guidance. * Compile Cybersecurity information and resources required for policies and procedures. * Maintain device inventory spreadsheet. * Generate security and training reports as needed. * Perform administrative duties as required. Qualifications   Strong Problem solving and analytical skills. * Technical writing, research, and documentation experience. * Currently enrolled in information Security or related field. * Prior coursework or projects related to information security. * Familiarity with Operating Systems, particularly Windows. * Self-motivated, eager to learn security concepts and work with enterprise security tools. * Strong interest in Information Security learning new applications * Information Security experience a plus.
