OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE

We are seeking an experienced and well-versed Information Services Manager to provide strategic leadership and direction for the Information Services Department. With a strong background in IS management, infrastructure operations and cloud-based technologies, you understand how to balance performance, security and user experience. You know how to implement governance frameworks and risk controls that improve reliability, and you’re comfortable managing vendors, budgets and service expectations. You also understand the importance of working collaboratively across departments and translating complex technical issues into practical solutions for diverse stakeholders. This is a key leadership role where your operational focus, strategic thinking and strong communication skills will directly contribute to Council’s goals.

Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Director Corporate, Community and Development Services the incumbent exercises both managerial and operational responsibility for the Information Services (IS) Department;
  • Ensuring that Council’s IS services and infrastructure support the organisation’s operational and strategic plans including the planning, direction, control and evaluation of the ICT operation across a multi-site environment;
  • Advising senior management of future ICT requirements and, through a program of structured planning, determine priorities for development and maintenance of the corporate computer environment;
  • Providing effective liaison between IS and all levels of management and employees within the Council on all matters relating to IS, and external parties as required;
  • Responsible for ensuring network security as identified in Council’s computer equipment and software usage procedure and for implementing IS disaster recovery measures as identified in Council’s Disaster Recovery Plan Council chambers;
