JOB SUMMARY

The Information Systems Lead is responsible for planning, evaluating, and managing network and clinical systems projects, providing support and training for clinical software systems, and coordinating interdepartmental communication for system improvements. This role plays a key part in enhancing systems utilization, ensuring compliance with regulatory changes, and facilitating continuous improvement in clinical documentation processes. Works under general supervision and reports to a manager or project leader.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or a related field required
  • 3-5 years experience in clinical systems training, systems administration, or a related field required
  • Experience with clinical software and documentation systems, including but not limited to Patient Care, Pyxis, and Centricity preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Proficiency in clinical software systems and related technical troubleshooting.
  • Strong training and mentoring skills, with the ability to develop and present educational content.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis and system performance metrics.

Responsibilities
  • Leads training sessions for staff on clinical systems software, validates training quality, and ensures effective education using a variety of media platforms.
  • Organizes and leads interdepartmental meetings to resolve and address issues related to clinical documentation systems, including Patient Care, OE, PCI, Pyxis, and other essential modules.
  • Identifies gaps in clinical documentation, provides analysis, and designs and implements improvement initiatives to enhance system performance and data accuracy.
  • Provides ongoing support and clarification on clinical system inquiries and ensures follow-through for system-related issues or requests.
  • Monitors regulatory changes related to clinical documentation and systems, communicates updates to leadership, and advises on any necessary process changes.
  • Fosters collaborative relationships with providers, case managers, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to enhance clinical system integration and documentation practices.
  • Oversees and tracks physician and staff training on clinical systems utilization, documents non-utilization impacts, and reports educational activities to leadership.
  • Analyzes and manages data flow from clinical systems to appropriate databases for reporting and performance tracking.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
