Description

The Red Hat IT Experience (ITX) team is looking for a Workplace Technology Delivery Engineer to join us in our EMEA region. In this role, you will be part of a fast-paced global team that owns the delivery and management of all audiovisual (AV) and IT infrastructure within our offices throughout the EMEA region. Your primary responsibilities will be for the installation of all IT and audiovisual systems and the resolution of all technology-related issues from start to finish. This spans a range of infrastructure, including office-based IT communications rooms (both the room itself and the hardware hosted within), physical network cabling infrastructure for entire offices, all office audiovisual (AV) infrastructure including displays, video conferencing units, smart room controls, video-over-IP, and printing devices and infrastructure. This role requires some travel, as Red Hat is continually remediating and expanding our current real estate portfolio.

What you will do:

  • Proactively monitor the maintenance of all IT-related systems
  • Coordinate troubleshooting of frontline issues in the communications room and with the deployed audiovisual equipment
  • Platform management to include video conferencing, digital signage, and print infrastructures
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders on problem resolution
  • Serve as a key technical engineering point of contact for office projects, including new offices, moves, expansions, refits, and integrations of company acquisitions
  • Interpret customer needs to help develop comprehensive AV solutions
  • Hardware procurement related to office IT build outs for office moves and expansions, as well as ongoing maintenance of office infrastructure
  • Provide feedback on, and contribute to new office build standards
  • Designer, integrator and support vendor management

What you will bring:

  • Effective written and verbal skills in English
  • Effective communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proven expertise in an IT hardware support role, working in a technical area and interacting with customers and executives
  • An understanding of AV infrastructure as well as audio and video control systems such as Crestron, Kramer and Extron
  • Some experience with IT communications room architecture, IP networks, switching and routing and physical network cabling infrastructure, AV infrastructure, and printing tools
  • Experience in IT industry with a multi-platform background including Mac and Windows
  • Proven record of experience working with external technology vendors in project execution
  • Knowledge of the systems used in Audiovisual solutions Unified Communications (UC) platforms such as Google Meet, Cisco WebEx, Zoom, Slack
  • Proactive and driven in your work.
  • Experience in establishing priorities, working independently, and execution of objectives without supervision

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks / projects at once

Nice to have:

  • Experience in signal extension such as HDBaseT, AV-over-IP and Dante
  • Working knowledge of AV/IT monitoring software
  • Experience in configuring audio DSP equipment
  • Working knowledge in Python scripting and automation
