Information Systems Solutions (ISS) is looking for a candidate to provide fill a multi-role position supporting a ballistic missile defense project operating on the Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) network at NIWC PAC in San Diego, CA. The selected candidate’s primary role is Windows system administration of desktop systems, a small number of servers, and real-time in-depth network troubleshooting in support of test events and exercises. In addition, the candidate will support the project ISSE in producing RMF artifacts and supporting ATO packages with the opportunity to learn and assume those ISSE duties and function in that role when needed. This is a long-term project with the prospect of growing and maturing your skills with the growth of your role. This work is 100 percent on site in a classified environment working in a lab that supports multi-platform testing. There is a small (5%) opportunity to travel in support of the project within CONUS and Hawaii.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following

  • Knowledge of the ATO process, the production of artifacts, and ability to support ATO package submissions
  • Knowledge of RMF principles and practices
  • Knowledge of eMASS
  • Windows desktop and server administration.
  • Networking knowledge and the ability to traceroute and identify specific device failures in the critical path of routing in real time.
  • Imaging and restoring system drive with new software upgrades.
  • Using scripting languages for automation
  • Maintaining system configurations, user access, and issue-level security to protect user privacy and data integrity.
  • Testing and evaluating system performance.
  • Managing IA updates as required.
  • Hardening servers and laptop systems to DISA standards.
  • Completing ACAS Scans and remediating findings.
  • Performing and documenting all applicable STIGs.
  • Developing documentation for sysadmin duties, back-ups, and network troubleshooting procedures in multiple established network configurations
  • Ability to take on other IT related tasks as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • 3+ years’ of experience with RMF and ATO/ATC processes
  • 3+ years’ of experience with Windows system administration
  • 2 years’ of experience with networking
  • Networking knowledge to include NAS and SAN configurations

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Physics, Math, or Electrical Engineering
