Overview
GBSI is seeking an Information Technology (IT) professional for the role of Information Systems Security Officer in Huntsville, AL to provide support for Land-Based Phalanx Weapon System (LPWS) within the Security Engineering Division of the Short and Intermediate Effectors for Layered Defense (SHIELD) Project Office.
The ISSO will assist in ensuring PM SHIELD’s systems and components are authorized under AR 25-2 mandate DoDI 8510.01 Risk Management Framework for DoD.

Responsibilities

  • Communicates and coordinates with SHIELD security and systems engineering leadership, LPWS Product leadership, prime contractors, engineering team, and other organizations to successfully meet LPWS cybersecurity requirements as well as compliance with applicable policy, regulatory, and statutory requirements;
  • Plans and coordinates cybersecurity development and implementation activities with the prime contractor and will provides security engineering expertise in the development and update of documentation IAW DoDI 8510.01 RMF requirements;
  • Ensures LPWS systems meet RMF compliance and receives/maintains an ATO. Maintains IAVM compliance;
  • Leads cyber working groups, IPTs and technical interchange meetings;
  • Reviews and analyzes cyber-related engineering change proposals, performance specifications, and technical requirements;
  • Prepares and presents security engineering and development briefings to senior SBS, SHIELD, and/or PEO Missiles and Space leadership;
  • Provides cybersecurity inputs and updates to contract Statement of Work and develops cyber schedule inputs to the program Integrated Master Schedule;
  • Coordinates and supports execution of CVI, CVPA, ACD, AA, and other cyber events;
  • Ensures system incorporates secure design to include cyber survive-ability and operational resilience.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a technical field plus two (2) to three (3) year of relative experience; OR Bachelor’s degree in a technical field plus five (5) to seven (7) years of relative experience is required;
  • DoD-issued Secret Clearance is required at start;
  • Required to have and maintain current IAT Level II Certification (Security+, GSEC, GICSP, SSCP, or CCNA-Security) in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program guidelines at start;
  • Knowledge of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) is required;
  • Knowledge of Assured Compliance Assessment Solutions (ACAS) Scans is required;
  • Experience with Risk Management Framework is required;
  • Background in Accreditation is required.
