JOIN PERATON’S CYBER INTEL TEAM AS AN INFORMATION SYSTEMS SECURITY OFFICER (ISSO) - ANNAPOLIS JUNCTION, MD

Are you passionate about protecting national security through cutting-edge cybersecurity practices? Peraton is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to support our dynamic Cyber Intelligence team in Annapolis Junction, MD.
As a key player in our mission-critical programs, you’ll help safeguard complex information systems that support some of the nation’s most important operations.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • An active TS/SCI security clearance with Polygraph is required.
  • Two years technical experience on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required, or 0 years experience is required with a Master’s Degree.
  • Four additional years of experience as an ISSO may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
  • DoD 8570 compliance with IAT Level I or higher is required to start work.
Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

As an ISSO at Peraton, you’ll be at the forefront of cybersecurity operations, responsible for ensuring compliance with strict government security protocols and driving risk mitigation strategies. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, implementing, and enforcing cybersecurity policies, standards, and best practices across high-impact systems.
  • Maintaining the security posture of critical information systems, ensuring adherence to established guidelines.
  • Supporting the daily security operations and compliance activities of classified systems.
  • Evaluating security solutions and conducting vulnerability and risk assessments for accreditation processes.
  • Overseeing security configuration management, including software, hardware, and firmware updates.
  • Managing system changes and assessing their impact on security controls and requirements.
  • Preparing, reviewing, and maintaining key security documentation such as System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports, Certification & Accreditation (C&A) packages, and more.
  • Supporting security authorization activities in compliance with government frameworks.
