SUMMARY:

This Junior Information Systems Specialist co-op position provides essential technical support for network, computer, and end-user services within a corporate IT environment. This role involves supporting IT infrastructure across multiple company facilities (Aurora), on-site. The co-op will assist with cloud services and utilize IT department tools to deliver timely solutions. Additionally, the role requires providing customer support to users at various skill levels via phone, email, remote access, or in person, while maintaining thorough documentation of issues, resolutions, and processes.

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program related to computer science or a related field.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a customer-oriented approach to IT support.
  • Excellent communication, organization, planning, and execution skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships across various levels of the organization.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, as there may be some travel to each of our locations in Ontario.
Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide 1st level technical support for both on-site and remote staff.

  • Set up, configure, and standardize end-user devices such as workstations, laptops, smartphones, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Respond promptly to user inquiries and service requests, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Support both local and remote users through support tickets, ensuring clear and thorough documentation.
  • Log all support requests, track progress, and follow up in the internal ticketing system.
  • Perform audits and maintain an accurate inventory of all computer hardware and assets.
  • Contribute to SharePoint infrastructure support, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects and initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
