Preferred Title is one of the oldest providers of title insurance in Dane County and we take pride in our long history of providing quality service. We are a full service title company for both residential and commercial real estate transactions providing: title insurance, real estate closings, construction disbursements and other related services.
The Information Systems Technician is responsible for identifying, analyzing and troubleshooting errors or problems in computer networks and software applications. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in all areas of IT, including computers, mobile devices, networking, server administration, database administration and security. Being able to work with people is critical.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain personal computer hardware, peripheral equipment, and operating systems.
- Responds to incoming Helpdesk requests to resolve technical problems, regarding equipment and software, including issue identification, research, and simple resolution steps.
- Apply problem-solving skills to resolve technical issues to ensure that computer systems are in good working order.
- Tracks Helpdesk requests to ensure problems are properly prioritized, monitored, escalated and resolved appropriately.
- Supports moves/adds/changes to user hardware, phone and office equipment and remote/mobile access.
- May also assist in monitoring, setup, repair and troubleshooting of printer/faxes/copiers/phone/computer equipment in offices
- Performs installations, repairs, upgrades and other maintenance tasks.
- Connect computers to the Internet and other networks.
- Create technical documentation of software and hardware systems
- Recognize and troubleshoot hardware and software problems.
- Ensures the proper day-to-day operation of team member equipment.
- Participate in after-hours projects.
- Supports the security administration of the equipment and information on all computer systems within the company. Maintains security and application access, administers secure and compliant environment, application security and information protection.
- Participates in the tracking and tagging of equipment.
- Determines the need for additional equipment.
- Remains current on application patches and updates, trends and changes within the information systems industry as it relates to the company’s technology needs.
- Assist in support and development projects. Work may include performing research to enhance efficiencies, analyzing and documenting current systems, assisting with testing and implementation of new technology systems.
- Perform any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
Required
- Two years of related information technology experience, including working with personal computers, networks, and telecommunications equipment.

Preferred
- Associates or better in Information Technology or related field
