MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s or Doctorate preferred, 5 years of relevant experience. The desired field of study is Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, AI Engineering, or related fields. Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Experience in implementing compliance frameworks (NIST, CIS, ISO 27001, SOC2)
  • Experience with on-prem and cloud networking, integration, and collaboration.
  • Experience with hyperconverged infrastructure
  • Demonstrable experience deploying Windows and Linux servers

    Expected Pay Range: $116,858 - $128,54
Responsibilities

SUPERVISORY ACCOUNTABILITY:

Responsible for making recommendations in the areas of cybersecurity, data security, privacy, information technology (IT) infrastructure, and network secure communications with a focus on open architectures & applications and digital engineering infrastructures. Work involves coordinating activities to develop IT systems for RITA UARC applications, supporting the use of DoD modeling and simulation tools, executing security authorization, and systems analysis.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Responsible for working with Howard University’s Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) in the officiating of laws, regulations, and policies for RITA, maintaining government security, confidentiality, and privacy compliance.
  • Work with ETS to develop and manage all information systems to meet government-level security.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in reviewing network security plans for the RITA UARC and assist with maintaining cybersecurity training requirements.
  • Recommend, track, and monitor needed updates to existing IT systems.
  • Provide technical support to RITA UARC staff.
  • Develop and maintain security documentation, including security assessment reports, risk assessments, system interconnection agreements, and configuration management plans
  • Develop and monitor compliance, including insider threat awareness and systems security program.
  • Develop computer information resources, providing for data security and control, strategic computing, and disaster recovery.
  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, VLANs, and access points
  • Administer IP addressing, DNS, CHCP, and network segmentation
  • Manage and optimize storage architectures including Storage Area Networks, RAID arrays, and Network Attached Storage
  • Deploy, configure, and manage Windows and Linux servers
  • Perform backup, disaster recovery, and patch management
  • Configure and manage sites, services, and multi-forest environments.
  • Respond to security incidents and conduct threat hunting
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
