BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting computer hardware and software.
  • Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows Server 2022, Windows 11 and Linux.
  • Proficiency and understanding of VMWare .
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To provide comprehensive technical support and assistance to users within Giesecke and Devrient (G+D), ensuring the seamless operation of the organization’s technological infrastructure, which is vital to the success and efficiency of its operations.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):

  • Oversee user account management, including creation, modification, and deletion, ensuring correct access permissions in line with company policies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues, including wired and wireless connections, routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Contribute to the creation of training materials and documentation to enhance users’ understanding of IT systems and industry best practices. Provide on-demand training and user support.
  • Support IT initiatives, including system upgrades, migrations, and deployments, by assisting with planning, testing, and implementation.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets, such as hardware, software licenses, and peripherals, and assist with procurement and asset management.
  • Ensure strict adherence to IT policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. Promote the implementation of security policies to safeguard company data and systems.
  • IT Hardware Asset Management & to ensure that all associated process are followed upon receipt of new equipment.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices in IT, continuously developing skills through training and self-study.
  • Provide remote assistance to users facing technical challenges through phone, email, or remote desktop tools, delivering clear and effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to deliver holistic support and contribute to the success of IT operations.
  • Document IT procedures, troubleshooting steps, and solutions to create a valuable knowledge base for future use.
