Description Job Purpose The Information Technology (IT) Coordinator is responsible for managing the technology needs of all programs and departments at VIA Centers for Neurodevelopment (VIA). VIA’s technology currently includes: Windows server 2012 (both database and email) and terminal server, Gmail, virtual private network (VPN), remote connections, wireless hubs, desktop computers, laptop computers, I-pads, I-pad minis, smartphones, SMART boards, and other audio-visual devices. A primary role of the Information Technology (IT) Coordinator is to install and configure computer workstations and local area networks, operate them, monitor their performances, diagnose and solve their problems. VIA’s future technology needs may include cloud-based storage. VIA has three locations in Charlottesville, therefore the IT Coordinator will need to manage the technology needs of all offices. Duties and Responsibilities Install and maintain all IT-related equipment Install software and hardware as needed Set up new users and email addresses Support end users with IT-related problems in a responsive manner Manage the daily back-ups Interface with server maintenance company on server issues Deactivate users as staff leave Maintain the permission level of each group and ensuring the accuracy of such Provide input and recommendations to the organization surrounding hardware and software technologies and how these technologies can benefit the organization Maintains the confidentiality of privileged information Maintain current and accurate inventory of technology hardware, software and resources Develop and monitor performance levels of software and hardware to evaluate, recommend and propose alternative methods of information processing. Coordinate VIA’s IT needs and services with outside vendors, when appropriate Perform other related duties as assigned Position Type This is a full-time position. Minimum travel may be required. Requirements Qualifications Valid driver’s license required High school diploma or Equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field preferred IT certificate desirable but not required Two or more years of IT work experience required Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, the Internet, and common web-based browsers and applications, including both desktop/laptop and tablet-based systems Knowledge of accounting software is desirable Ability to make independent decisions and proactively problem solve Excellent written, oral communication and listening skills Ability to quickly learn, master and describe new technology Ability to work well within a team and with a variety of individuals Good organizational and time management skills, with attention to accuracy and detail
