GENERAL SUMMARY
The Information Technology (IT) Director plans, organizes, leads, and directs the information, audio visual, and telecommunications activities of the Library. The IT Director is responsible for licensing, care, and security of the hardware, software, equipment, and infrastructure throughout the Library system. This purpose-driven leader is a self-directed technology professional possessing a strong work ethic and having a collaborative leadership style focused on customer and staff experience.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required include:
- Knowledge of general business software applications.
- Knowledge of library automation software applications.
- Knowledge of computer platforms and architecture.
- Knowledge of computer systems analysis, design and programming concepts, techniques and practices.
- Knowledge of structured project management processes and techniques.
- Knowledge of current and emerging technologies.
- Knowledge of networking and telecommunications systems and terminology.
- Ability to determine and recommend information, telecommunication, audio visual and any other IT-related systems solutions that support the library’s requirements, goals and strategies.
- Ability to function as a self-motivated team player capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Ability to persuade others in order to gain concurrence, to resolve problems, gain cooperation, and/or facilitate teamwork.
- Ability to resolve complex business and technical problems.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Skills necessary to develop and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships with co-workers, customers, vendors, and/or representatives of other agencies.
- Ability to communicate through electronic forms of communication, in-person, and over the telephone. Ability to demonstrate proficient usage of English grammar, spelling and punctuation rules, and to utilize simple mathematical functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, ratios, etc.

- Skill related to application of information management solutions to business management and systems research, systems analysis, and systems engineering.
- Ability to demonstrate proficient use of personal computer software or systems applicable to the essential functions of the job, which may include (but not be limited to) email/calendar software, internet browsers, word processing, spreadsheets, database software, and various systems or software used by CCPL.
- Ability to teach and grow the skills and knowledge of team members.
- Ability to present IT-related programs and information to all levels of the Library enterprise including the Board of Trustees, Executives, Government Officials, Staff Members, and Customers.
