POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The IT Director is responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational oversight of the organization’s IT infrastructure, cloud and on-premise systems, security, and technical support. This role requires a hands-on leader who combines deep technical expertise with strong people and vendor management skills to ensure high availability, security and scalability of IT services while ensuring IT value is realized. The Director will drive innovation, ensure compliance, and align IT operations with business objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated experience with hybrid cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure), networking, storage, and cybersecurity practices.
  • Hands-on experience supporting and managing network infrastructure and administering systems.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise IT operations frameworks (e.g., ITIL, COBIT), security frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS), and project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, Agile, Scrum).
  • Proven leadership capabilities in managing cross-functional teams and complex technology environments.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences to ensure service excellence.
  • Strong financial acumen related to IT budgeting, cost optimization, and ROI analysis.
  • Experience managing service providers, cloud vendors, and SaaS platforms in a multi-site environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong experience with enterprise solutions, i.e. ERP, CRM and custom enterprise software platforms
  • Professional certifications in IT governance and security.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field. Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in IT operations, with 5+ years in a senior IT leadership role managing infrastructure and technical support functions.

PHYSICAL AND WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

On a normal workday, the employee is required to constantly stand, sit, and walk; occasionally lift up to 25 pounds; infrequently squat, kneel, reach above shoulder level, and lift from high/low position; bend, push, or pull. Constant use of hands required for simple grasping, pushing, pulling, and/or typing.
Hybrid work environment and some travel may be required.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the IT infrastructure and operations strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Strategic Leadership: Drive innovation, resilience, and scalability.
  • Infrastructure Oversight: Manage the design, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise-wide IT infrastructure—including cloud environments, networks, and end-user technologies.
  • Security & Risk Management: Oversee implementation of cybersecurity policies, risk management practices, and compliance initiatives (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001). Lead efforts in threat mitigation, vulnerability management, and incident response.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure the availability, performance, and reliability of IT systems. Implement monitoring tools, enforce SLAs, and maintain robust business continuity plans.
  • Technology Innovation: Identify and implement modern technologies to improve service delivery, automation, and scalability. Stay ahead of emerging trends such as AI, automation, and edge computing.
  • Budget & Vendor Management: Develop and manage the IT operations budget. Negotiate and oversee vendor contracts, software licensing, and service level agreements to optimize cost and performance.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor geographically dispersed infrastructure and support teams. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • IT Governance: Ensure compliance with IT policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Promote best practices in IT service management (ITSM), including ITIL or equivalent frameworks.
  • IT Governance: Drive the implementation of solutions that meet business needs by leveraging lien project management practices for prioritizing initiatives, managing, configuring and testing the applications and all associated integrations to ensure solutions are stable when they are implemented.
  • IT Governance: Develop and measure success against key metrics, including but not limited to system uptime, project delivery, customer satisfaction and cost savings.
  • Development: Manage development efforts and integrations to ensure quality assurance and validation integrations are working properly.
