POSITION SUMMARY: The Information Technology Manager manages the day to day operations of the information technology department. This includes supervising the activities of IT staff members. This position is responsible for ensuring that the staff complete their daily checklists including the documentation, research and resolution of any operational issues that surface while performing these tasks while providing appropriate escalation as needed. The ideal candidate will also be able to provide management of projects, vendors, and partnerships as they relate to the Bank’s technology initiatives. This position provides continuous management and leadership to the IT staff with the overall goal of maintaining a cohesive and cooperative work environment.
This position is responsible for managing the bank’s various team and vendors (applications, infrastructure, data, information security, hosted network services, SaaS, etc) Ensuring that the operations of services, server machines, core operating software, application performance, and connectivity between local and remote sites that utilize LAN and WAN based connections, servers, switches and routers are operating at optimum capacity and responsiveness. The Manager is responsible for communicating with the Bank’s vendors to resolve issues around system and service uptime availability, automation, and must respond at all times and act quickly to resolve with said vendor any problems that arise which jeopardize the clients ability to interact with the business products or an employee’s ability to interact with the business systems.
This position should have a strong understanding of the Bank’s applications, network infrastructure, technology related processes/workflows, and the importance of keeping the Bank’s supporting documentation up to date. The Manager must develop a comprehensive understanding of the organization’s software and hardware systems and be able to anticipate, identify and articulate problem areas and develop preventative and proactive solutions in a timely and efficient manner. In addition, must be able to work with a high degree of independence on projects and day to day requests with little or no precedent and resolve complex problems quickly. Provide guidance, training and support to staff.
