Description

Bridge IT Engineering is seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager to support a Federal Government Department in Canberra. This is a senior technical project management role responsible for the planning, coordination, governance and delivery of complex engineering, systems integration, standards implementation and test and evaluation activities.

The successful candidate will work closely with systems engineers, technical stakeholders and industry partners to deliver engineering outcomes, technical assurance activities and integration milestones within a complex, highly regulated environment.

  • Key responsibilities include:Develop and maintain project management plans, schedules, WBS, risks and stakeholder activities
  • Coordinate engineering, systems integration, assurance and verification activities
  • Manage project schedules, dependencies, risks, budgets, resources and governance reporting
  • Coordinate engineering reviews, technical governance forums and key project milestones
  • Support engineering assurance and technical standards implementation
  • Coordinate engagement with internal stakeholders and industry partners
  • Coordinate prototyping, test and evaluation activities
  • Provide reporting across technical risks, engineering issues and integration activities


  • Key experience & requirements:Minimum 15 years’ industry experience in Engineering or Project Management, preferably within ICT environments
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex engineering, systems integration, ICT, C4I or capability projects
  • Strong experience delivering projects within technically complex and highly regulated environments
  • Master’s degree in Project Management, Program Management, Engineering Management, Business Administration, Management Studies or a closely related discipline
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Applied Science, Computer Science, Systems Science or an equivalent technical discipline
  • Recognised project management accreditation, or immediate eligibility to obtain one, such as PMP, CPPM, CPPP, PRINCE2 Practitioner or MSP Practitioner
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills across senior, technical and industry stakeholders
  • Experience across systems integration, C4I, interoperability, systems engineering, architecture, verification and validation, test and evaluation, tactical communications or sensor systems will be highly regarded.


Knowledge of PMBOK, PMMv2, Agile delivery methodologies and complex project governance frameworks will also be advantageous.
