EDUCATION

Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary education program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position, OR an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.
Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

EX1: Recent experience* installing, configuring, and/or repairing personal computer systems in a network environment
EX2: Recent experience* installing and/or troubleshooting Windows 11 Operating Systems
EX3: Recent experience* in the delivery of IT support services to clients in a corporate network environment

EX4: Recent experience* installing and/or troubleshooting Microsoft Office suite and virtual private networks (VPN)

  • Recent experience is defined as having approximately six (6) months of experience gained within the last two (2) years

KNOWLEDGE

K1: Knowledge of general IT service and troubleshooting support principles.
K2: Knowledge of Windows 11 and collaboration apps such as OneDrive & Teams
K3: Basic knowledge of networking and telecommunications equipment and principals

ABILITIES

A1: Ability to manage priorities and deadlines
A2: Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
A3: Ability to use available resources to develop adequate solutions for client problems

ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE

AK1: Knowledge of a Windows Network and Active Directory accounts
AK2: Knowledge of remote support and remote software deployment tools

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform when required
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, overtime, weekends and/or statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays, when required
  • Willingness to work and travel within the geographical area of the Mountain Parks when required
  • Willingness to lift computers, monitors (weight between 10 and 20 kg)
