JOB SUMMARY

In this role you will play a critical role and provide Database and Database Server administration under the direction of the Architects and the Operation Supervisor to ensure an effective and secure digital environment. This position also provides Windows Server administration for the MSRS server fleet. Duties include managing MSRS’ database systems, developing and deploying new database solutions and schemas for applications, managing and maintaining MSRS server infrastructure, and ensuring all operations are secure.

Job Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the development, maintenance, and enhancement of custom applications that meet business and technical requirements.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to gather system requirements, troubleshoot issues, and deliver solutions.
  • Writing, testing, and debugging code to ensure secure, scalable, and reliable system performance.
  • Participating in design reviews, system upgrades, and technical documentation to support long-term application sustainability

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates must clearly demonstrate all of the following qualifications in their resume:

This positions requires a minimum of 3 years* of experience in network environments

  • A Master’s degree in Information Technology or a related field substitutes for 18 months of experience, OR a related Bachelor’s degree substitutes for 1 year, OR a related Associate’s substitutes for 6 months.

Experience must include:

  • Knowledge of a wide variety of technology and architectures including operating systems (Windows, Linux), LAN/WAN/Wireless networking, TCP/IP, directory structures, identity management and provisioning, middleware, firewalls, and remote access.
  • Knowledge and skill working with and managing PostgreSQL and MS-SQL databases or similar database platforms.
  • Knowledge and skill working in a Windows environment using office support products such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical support over the phone, email, and in-person to employees.
  • Ability to perform hands on work to install, integrate, test, debug, and certify components of a technology infrastructure.
  • Ability to discern the nature of a malfunction (hardware versus software) and pinpoint the cause using system management and diagnostic software tools to correct a problem in a timely manner.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced knowledge and skill optimizing and scaling PostgreSQL, AWS RDS, and MS-SQL.
  • Ability to develop and maintain automation scripts using Powershell and Bash.
  • Advanced knowledge and skill working with Linux and Windows server operating systems.
