This position is located at the DMV Headquarters in Sacramento.
The Department of Motor Vehicles’ Infrastructure Branch is seeking a highly skilled Information Technology Specialist II (ITS II) to support the engineering efforts of the Database Administration Group (DAG) within the Client/Server DBA Unit. Under the general direction of an Information Technology Manager I (ITM I), the ITS II will serve as a senior development DBA, responsible for the ongoing engineering, maintenance, and support of DMV’s mission-critical data infrastructure. This position plays a key role in the department’s ongoing transition to cloud-based platforms (PaaS, IaaS, and SaaS), including support for specialized SaaS systems. Some duties may include, but not limited to: • Database Design & Development Support • Performance Tuning & Code Review • Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) Development & Data Integration • Secure Development & Access Control • Development Lifecycle Integration • Data Architecture & Modeling • Environment & Configuration Management • Security & Compliance Oversight • Mentoring • Issue Resolution & Analysis

Working Conditions
Part-time telework available. Telework requires California residency. This position offers hybrid telework opportunities; however, telework arrangements are subject to change at any time based on State & departmental operational needs. Employees may be required to report to the office as necessary.
DMV operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The incumbent may be required to carry a work cell phone and laptop. There may also be times when the incumbent is required to attend an out-of-town conference, or work evenings and weekends to maintain project schedules. The position may be required to occasionally report to the designated office location in DMV headquarters at 2415 First Avenue, Sacramento, California, 95818. Travel expenses related to reporting to designated office is employee’s own responsibility and is not eligible for reimbursement.
