INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST:

On behalf of our Technology client, Procom is searching for an Information Technology Specialist for a permanent role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Guelph office.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST - JOB DESCRIPTION:

This role involves a mix of hands-on technical support, system administration, and IT project work to ensure the smooth, secure, and reliable operation of client’s IT infrastructure. The specialist will manage enterprise-level systems, maintain network security, and provide support to staff across multiple offices.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST - MANDATORY SKILLS:

  • Networking (TCP/IP), Palo Alto firewalls, HP switches.
  • Server hardware (HP, Dell), Windows Server 2022, Windows 11.
  • Hyper-V virtualization, failover clustering.
  • Microsoft 365, Exchange 2019, SharePoint fundamentals.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience in system administration, networking, and information security.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST – NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

  • Relevant technical certifications (e.g., A+, Network+, MCP, Microsoft, Palo Alto, ITIL).
  • Experience with VoIP systems and contact centre technology (e.g., Genesys).
  • Supervisory or team lead experience.
  • Initiative and adaptability to support both legacy and emerging technologies.
  • Knowledge of IT Asset Management practices.
Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and maintain user devices, network infrastructure, and enterprise systems.
  • Manage and deploy security patches and updates.
  • Provide advanced desk-side and remote technical support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Administer Microsoft 365, Exchange 2019, and SharePoint environments.
  • Oversee IT asset management, including procurement, imaging, deployment, and decommissioning.
  • Lead IT projects and mentor junior team members.
  • Provide on-call support on a rotational basis.
