Under the general direction of the Information Technology Manager I (ITM I) of Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) in the Office of Information Services (OIS), the incumbent performs managing, coordination, technical consulting and support over the full range of server and software activities involving DIR’s complex IT Operation and Cloud operations environment. Develops and maintains the IT system operating schedules and analyzes for efficiency. Authorizes and directs changes to the operational parameters. Oversees and monitors daily work and performance of IT staff. Responsible for IT operations environment documentation and reporting. Consults with senior management to ensure strategic goals are met. Oversees daily operations of data backups, verification, and recovery, ensuring successful completion and integrity, while also managing server file space to meet the department’s storage needs.

Working Conditions
There is only one position that may be filled in either Oakland or Sacramento. If you are interested in the position at more than one location, please submit a separate application for each job control.

The incumbent performs work in an open-spaced, partitioned office environment with an assigned cubicle in a high-rise building in downtown Oakland, CA within walking distance of public transportation. The office is climate-controlled with natural and artificial light. The incumbent will utilize the computer daily. DIR is currently in a hybrid telework schedule and Incumbent will be required to work on site two days a week. The incumbent will be a participant in meetings in both physical and virtual locations. E.g. conference rooms and offices, and WebEx and Zoom teleconferences.
