Description

Under general direction of the Information Technology Manager I (IT Mgr I), the Information Technology Supervisor II (IT Sup II) performs the most complex and sensitive tasks related to statewide information technology (IT) management, oversight, and administration. The IT Su II works in a multi-disciplinary environment overseeing technically advanced data processing systems. The IT Sup II manages a team of IT professionals at the Information Technology Associate and Information Technology Specialist I levels who are responsible for supporting scalable and ubiquitous security solutions and services for California state government entities, cities, counties, and local public sector entities. The IT Sup II is responsible for developing and maintaining the knowledge and skills necessary to comprehend and supervise the work performed by the Security Solutions Administration staff under his/her supervision.
Telework
This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule within California based on departmental policy and operational needs. The telework policy is subject to change depending on business needs, and/or reporting to the work site may be required with minimal notification given.

Working Conditions

  • Successfully complete (pass) a fingerprint background criminal record check completed by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
  • Operate a personal computer (word processor, spreadsheet, e-mail communication, presentation, and diagramming applications).
  • Maintain consistent and regular attendance; communicate effectively (verbally and in writing, if both are appropriate) in dealing with the public and/or other employees; develop and maintain knowledge and skills related to specific tasks, methodologies, materials, tools, and equipment; complete assignments in a timely, effective, and efficient manner; and adhere to all policies and procedures regarding attendance, leave, and conduct.
  • This position supports a critical security team for OIS applications that run 24 hours and 7 days a week. May need to work off hours as events require and be available via mobile communication device.
