THE ROLE

We’re seeking a highly skilled Informix DBA to manage, maintain, and optimise IBM Informix database environments supporting a secure, high-availability regulatory platform.
This Sydney-based role is part of a broader legacy uplift program and involves working closely with development teams to ensure database performance, resilience, and compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Informix database server software.
• Monitor and optimise database performance (memory, CPU, I/O, storage).
• Implement and maintain robust backup and disaster recovery strategies.
• Troubleshoot database issues and provide root cause analysis and resolution.
• Design and maintain database objects (tables, views, indexes, stored procedures).
• Manage user access, roles, and permissions to ensure data security.
• Automate database maintenance tasks using shell scripts or other tools.
• Support application development teams with schema design, tuning, and query optimisation.
• Perform capacity planning and ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
• Ensure compliance with IT standards, policies, and procedures.
