INFRASTRUCTURE BUILD & INSTALLATION ENGINEER — FUTURE SUPERVISOR

Location: Greater Manchester (UK travel; occasional EU travel)
Salary: £30,000–£35,000 base + allowances/bonus
Type: Full-time, Permanent * Schedule: Mon–Fri (flex for night works/weekends as required)

THE ROLE

Hands-on first, leadership next. You’ll pull fibre through BT Openreach ducts (PIA), help build new areas, and then take that capability inside the fence — Cat6/6A and fibre in harsh industrial environments. You’ll also assist rollout planning and, as you progress, help grow a core crew and manage contractors. If you take pride in neat, tested installs and want a clear path to supervision, you’ll fit right in.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• PIA build (Openreach): sub-ducting, rodding/pulling, fibre blowing, chamber work; occasional overhead on poles.
• Site installs: Cat6/6A, OS2/OM4 fibre, cabinets/containment; splicing/patching; OTDR/LOSL & Fluke DSX certification.
• Commissioning support: PoE switching/Wi-Fi/APs; CCTV (Axis/Avigilon), ANPR (MAV Systems); tidy handovers with test packs and redlines.
• Safety & documentation: contribute to RAMS, SLG on highways, daily briefings; keep as-builts and asset lists tight.
• Build coordination (growing remit): assist with route surveys, build packs, day-to-day contractor oversight and closeout.
