JOB SUMMARY

We have an exciting opportunity for two Infrastructure Engineers – Cloud - in our Digital and Technology Group (DTG).
These are a full-time opportunities, on a permanent basis, and can be based at either of our office locations in Canary Wharf, London or South Mimms, Hertfordshire. Please be aware that these roles can only be worked in the UK and not overseas. We are currently operating a hybrid way of working, with a minimum of 40% of contracted hours working on site to enable the collaboration and contact with partners and stakeholders needed to deliver MHRA business. This may rise to 60% during the year. Attendance on site is driven by business needs so depending on the nature of the role, some roles will need to be on site more regularly. You will also be required to participate in the IT Operations and Security on-call rota on a periodic basis.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

The successful candidate will have experience in administration and operations of Cloud platforms, with a track record of identifying deeper underlying problems and opportunities and anticipating problems before they occur.
You will be familiar with implementing and supporting IT infrastructure on cloud, covering IaaS (Including Server Operating Systems), SaaS, PaaS, Monitoring tools, cloud administration and have familiarity with industry standard and best practices related to Cloud architecture and security.
You should be able to work effectively within a team, fostering positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders to support network core initiatives.

Responsibilities

WHAT’S THE ROLE?

Our cloud engineers are responsible for assisting in the management and delivery of our cloud services, you will be focused on project delivery both for our customers and internally within the infrastructure team delivering services, maintaining and enhancing our cloud services and delivering cost effective, performant solutions. You will also be engaged in some business-as-usual (BAU) tasks such as early life support and enhanced project support. Focusing on our Azure services you will work with your infrastructure colleagues and our strategic partners to maintain the stability, performance, and security of our cloud service.
This is a hands-on technical role. The successful candidates are expected to be able to apply their technical expertise in Azure cloud to deliver projects and both maintain and support day-to-day operations of our Azure infrastructure.
An on-call component is required, as this role involves providing support for critical issues outside regular working hours, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
