We are seeking a talented Infrastructure Engineer with expertise in Linux enterprise systems to join our dynamic team. Based out of our Port in Southampton, reporting into our UK Infrastructure Team manager and working in a UK team of 7. In this role you will design, implement, and maintain the IT infrastructure within DP World UK Terminals.
Our ideal candidate will be an experienced Infrastructure Engineer with previous experience or knowledge of power protect (dell storage), Microsoft and Linux - Redhat.
Location: Southampton
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (Mon-Fri) an additional On call requirement (compensated)

Responsibilities
  • To provide the IT infrastructure to meet the business needs including:
  • Provide Infrastructure and desktop support;
  • Participate in the 24*7 system support of business critical and essential IT services;
  • Software installations and problem solving of software on desktops laptops, printers etc.;
  • Monitor on a daily basis the company intranet, email, Microsoft products, 3rd party software;
  • Trains and orients staff on use of hardware and software;
  • Interact with numerous computer platforms in a multi-layered client server environment.
  • Assist in maintaining Data Center operations and maintain uninterrupted production systems;
  • Manage the storage media, including the Dell PowerStore SAN, its usage, backup and archiving policies;
  • Support the Senior Infrastructure Engineer to actively manage the high availability solutions across two sites;
  • Utilize virtualization (VMware) to maximize use of hardware;
  • Continuously monitor System Capacity requirements - Disc storage, processor utilization, communications bandwidth, power, UPS/standby generator;
  • Works with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software;
